ALLAN MALMBERG
Opus 1 was founded in 1993 by Allan Malmberg who brings a unique mix of talents to the recording scene. His background includes extensive involvement in every discipline which bears on the digital recording of classical music. He has been involved in concert recording throughout his career, initially in FM broadcast work and LP recording, and more recently in digital recording. He has worked extensively as a digital design engineer and as a software systems designer, and is experienced in digital audio signal processing applications. Mr. Malmberg is a member of the Audio Engineering Society and the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
In addition to his engineering background, Mr. Malmberg is also an accomplished cellist, with extensive performance experience as orchestral soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician. He has also served as conductor of chamber and symphony orchestras in the Southwest. His experience as both a recording engineer and a performing musician provide the critical capability essential to achieving the finest classical music recording results.
