OPUS 1 PROJECTS

Numerous performing organizations have been recorded by Opus 1, including the National Symphony Orchestra, American Youth Philharmonic Orchestras, Czechoslovak Chamber Orchestra Prague, National Chamber Orchestra, Capitol Chamber Orchestra, Theater Chamber Players, The Washington Chorus, Cantate Chamber Singers, Capitol Hill Choral Society, VOCE, and many others. Opus 1 recordings have included such artists as Kathleen Battle, Van Cliburn, Leon Fleisher, Emanuel Ax, Phyllis Bryn-Julson, John Shirley-Quirk, and Libor Novacek, Jr.

Opus 1 has recorded world premiere performances of music by John Corigliano, Leonard Slatkin, Dominick Argento, Thomas Beveridge, and Daniel Gawthrop.

Opus 1 did all postproduction editing and mastering of the critically acclaimed CD of the Benjamin Britten War Requiem (TWC 3898) performed by The Washington Chorus, which won the Grammy 2000 award for Best Choral Performance.

Opus 1 did the world premiere recording of The Canticle of the Sun by Amy Beach and several other Beach compositions not previously recorded, released on Albany Records (TROY 295).

Opus 1 provided the audio recording for TV productions of the opening performances of the National Symphony Orchestra in the renovated Concert Hall at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in 1997.
